The Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022

A new law that was passed just recently allows for contamination lawsuits of the victims that lived on and near the military base to bring claims that would otherwise be halted by the statute of limitations. This pause on the statute of limitations will allow injured victims that suffered water toxicity-related illnesses, like cancer, to be eligible for settlement compensation by the government. Here at Orlando Accident Attorney, we are taking on all clients who have lived near Camp Lejeune[1], North Carolina and have had some form of cancer or certain birth defect that they believe was caused by the water contamination after having lived on the base or nearby for several years.

Honoring Our Pact Act

“Honoring Our Pact Act,” is the act that will allow the victims of the water contamination to bring civil lawsuits regardless of the statute of limitations, it is also known as HOPA. The bill is currently going through the reconciliation process because of some differences in the versions of the bill passed by the House and differences between the bill passed by the Senate.
